Some might say the definition of culture is Paris. Paris has consistently made significant contributions to Western cultures. From architecture, art, and cuisine to fashion and literature, Paris sets an incomparable standard for the world.
Food is central to Parisian ways, and most socializing is done around lengthy (and delicious) dinners. Make sure that as you are strolling along the beautiful cobblestone streets you duck into some boutique cafes and try the delicious eats.
Located in an original Paris train station, this gem houses the world’s largest collection of Impressionist artists and pieces. Get lost in some beautiful art while also being able to enjoy delicious meals and the multiple on-site cafes.
The Louvre is the world’s largest museum and a historic staple in Paris. You can’t go to Paris without checkout out The Louvre. This sprawling museum will entertain you for hours. Try to get lost in the museum (on purpose) and enjoy stunning artwork.
ARC DE TRIOMPHE DE l’ÉTOILE
The Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. Looking for a unique way to experience it? Look for it from rooftops throughout the city or from different viewpoints. You’ll be stunned by the beautiful architecture and historic significance.
Once you’ve browsed all the museums, seen the historic monuments (and of course, the Eiffel Tower!) make sure to find some of the best rooftop views in Paris. Boutique hotels typically promote beautiful rooftop views and cultural feels.
Parisian Culture Tips:
- Enjoy your meals: Parisians enjoy their meals and the social aspect surrounding it. Sit back, don’t rush, and enjoy the ambiance.
- Dress the part: The French tend to dress less casually than Americans do. Take a couple days to observe their style or look up images online. Dressing the part will help you feel more at home and make it easier to embrace all parts of Parisian culture.
- Embrace the schedule: Mostly the schedule in Paris is roughly the same, however, with the emphasis on lengthy meals, shops and tourists sites will occasionally be closed during the early afternoon hours while they take a long lunch.
